The Marine day character sushi plate

In Japan, there is a national holiday called “the Marine Day,” which is a long weekend.

It is a day to appreciate the blessings of the sea and to pray for the prosperity of Japan as a maritime nation.

I wanted to something different dinner for the marine day, so I made a fun food creation.

With the image of a coral reef lagoon, I decorate seafood and some items bought from the deli.

One thing I always thinking the color which create meal plate.
I try to incorporate red ingredients and the three colors of yellow and green.

Then, don’t worry too much work for preparing.
It’s OK for leftovers from the fridge and ready-made items you’ve bought.

Sake from sea less prefecture

Japan has 47 prefectures.
Surprisingly, there are only 8 prefectures that do not touch the sea.

I want you to know that many of us Japanese live with the sea, benefiting from the natural resources of the sea.

Nagano Prefecture is one of the rare mountain regions in Japan, which does not have a port.
This sake is made at the Endo Sake Brewery in Nagano Prefecture.

I chose mountain-born sake for the Marine day, because on a hot summer day, sake on the rock that can be goes well with Sushi.
